Homework Read for 30 minutes daily with your child. Our school is using the Chick-Fil-A "Core Essentials" program to help the students learn good character traits. The word for April is Joy.
Monday Yes, we do have school today!! Read a book with your child and discuss the story. Ask them questions about the punctuation in the book. What is the name of the punctuation and what does it mean.

Tuesday Look at Tuesday Folders with your child and sign it. Return the signed field trip permission and admission fee if you haven't done so aleady. Thanks!

Wednesday Make up math stories for your child to answer using manipulatives. This week's example: Mother duck took two ducklings to the pond for a swim. She went back and led five more ducklings to the pond. How many ducklings are in the pond? Three ducklings got out to rest. How many are left in the pond?

Thursday We are learning about the farm this week. Ask your child about different animal families. Ex. What do you call the daddy in the horse family? The mom? kids? What about other farm animal families? Draw a picture of your favorite farm animal family. Write a story about them.

Friday What is a word that has a "ch" chunk? The "sh" chunk? Sound out each one and write it down. Make a sentence using those words.
