Dear Parents of Kindergarteners,
The weekly homework should take only 15 - 20 minutes each night. If the homework is taking longer than this, please modify it for your child.
Have a great summer!
Here are questions to ask after you have
read a story aloud to your child. (These questions will help to improve the comprehension level of your child.)
“Tell me what happened in the story.”
“Who is this story mostly about?”
“Who are the other characters?”
“Where is the story happening?”
“What happens first?”
“What happens next?”
“What happens at at the end of the story?”
“What was the problem in the story?”
“How is the problem solved at the end of the story?”
“Tell me about the characters in the story?”
(What were they like?)
