Your child should be working on reading and flashcards each night.

There's a teachers' saying, "you learn to read by reading."  Redundant, but it makes sense -- the only way to get better at reading is to practice.  Many teachers require the parents to sign reading logs each night.  If your child's teacher doesn't send home a reader for your child to read and you don't have anything any home, please let me know and I'll send books home with your child.  You can also go to the public library and find great books.

Flash cards are often no fun, but it's necessary for the children to be able to know their facts quickly in order to progress with higher level math skills, like problem solving.

These are the flashcards that your child should be working on each night:
* First grade -- addition
* Second grade -- addition and subtraction
* Third grade -- addition and subtraction, multiplication
* Fourth grade -- multiplication and division

As always, please call or email with questions or concerns...
