Accelerated Reader is a computerized
reading program that has the students reading
books from the classroom, library, or home.
They come to their classrooms to take a test on the book on the computer. The computer keeps track
of how many points they have earned. Students may only take the test on a book once. The computer remembers what books have been tested for each student. The bulletin board in the hallway opposite the library celebrates the students who have earned points in increments of 5 up to 50 and higher. Students receive a certificate for the points each time they sign up for the bulletin board.
