What does a Literacy Coach do?
	Literacy coaches support the implementation of CISD READS and balanced literacy on elementary and intermediate campuses.  Coaches work with teachers by providing feedback on instructional strategies through classroom modeling, one-to-one teacher assistance, support during testing, and by planning and facilitating staff development on both the campus and district level.  Coaches serve as a resource of information and support in the area of state and district mandated reading and writing assessments.  Coaches work with various "at-risk" students to demonstrate the implementation of reading intervention strategies.  Coaches collaborate with principals and district administration to accomplish campus and district goals.
