POSITION
DESCRIPTIONS
Producer:
Mr.
Allen
is the program producer and he will coordinate all of the program activities for
the Tuesday and Thursday broadcasts. All the final decisions for the program
will be his responsibility along with the training required for each member of
the news team.
Production Assistant:
This student
will assist the producer in the organizational and managerial aspects of the
news team studio which will include filing, labeling, maintaining the video
Library, and some real time managing of the production schedule. The live
broadcast will be run by this student every Tuesday and Thursday during the
homeroom period. The Production Assistant will be required to learn sound
software, photo software, graphic software labeling software, and the video
mixing system.
Presentation Editors:
These two students
are responsible for campus related presentation productions. These productions
do include faculty and staff profiles and all special events that involve our
student body. A working knowledge of sound production software, presentation
software, photo software, graphic software, and a basic understanding of
internet research tools will be required. These students will also be trained
to use the digital camera.
Video Editors:
These two
students will do all the major digital video editing featured in the
broadcast. Competency of several video software programs will be required by
each of these students. The creation of in house special features, editing of
existing videos to fit time slots, editing of some news broadcasts, and the
insertion of special effects will all be done by these two students.
Reporter / Anchors:
These
five students rotate into the anchor spot, on camera, delivering the news
broadcast. Field reporting, news research, faculty contact for announcements,
student interviews, teacher interviews, and local / national news story research
is all part of their job description. These five anchors will also share duties
such as the screening of all incoming videos and the creation of broadcast
endings. Each of these students will be required to learn basic presentation
software and sound software to perform these supplemental tasks.
