Explorations In Technology is a comprehensive survey course introducing students to the concepts and aptitudes that exist in today's technological world. This course is designed to give a student a focused quantity of information and experiences in targeted areas of Communications, Production, Energy, and Biotechnology. This type of instruction is achieved through a digital delivery system that provides detailed instruction in learning centers called modules. Each module is equipped with its own computer system containing various types of interactive software and manipulatives that draw the student into a true learning experience. Activities such as designing and constructing a webpage, creating an animated digital film, or sending a radio signal over a laser beam are but a few of the many hands on activities that keep students focused on their module subject. One of the primary objectives for this course is to stimulate a student's interest in one or more of the technology areas presented in this course. It is hoped that their interest will generate a career direction for their high school course work and set them on the path to technical literacy.

NOTE: Starting in the  2006 - 2007 school year Washington Jr. High now offers a two part technology lab simply called Tech Lab One and Tech Lab Two.  Each lab offers ten different modules per semester totaling 20 modules for the year.  Students are allowed to take one or both of the labs as their individual schedule allows.
