At least 9 daily and 3 major grades will be taken in every subject. Homework counts as one daily grade. Graded work will indicate whether it was major - M or daily - D.

Homework is required at all grade levels. The suggested amount of time for Fourth grade is 60 minutes per night, including required reading time. Homework should be extra practice on previously taught skills, to maintain skills and to review.

Make-up Work: For excused absences, the number of days missed is the number of days allowed to complete make-up work for full credit. Excused absences are for personal illness, serious illness or death of an immediate family member, emergency medical or dental, religious holy days, weather or road conditions make travel impossible or dangerous, quarantine, temporary absence from health care professional, if that student returns to school on the same day of the appointment.

For unexcused absences, no make-up work may be given in advance. The number of days missed is the number of days allowed to make-up work. The maximum grade for make-up work is 70%. A planned absence is an unexcused absence.  

Progress Reports – At least 4 daily and 2 major grades will be taken in every subject.

Late Work – The penalty for work turned in late is 10% off of the final grade per assignment.

Birthday Treats

Cookies and cupcakes only.They may be served on the picnic tables at recess.Due to state regulations, they may not be served in the cafeteria.If your child has a birthday during a holiday or the summer they have been assigned a day to celebrate in class, please feel free to bring treats that day.

No Name Papers 
5% of the final score will be deducted from any paper turned in without a name.

Late Work

Any assignment not turned in on time will be considered late and 10 % will be deducted per day.

Planner
Students are responsible for recording homework
on their planner daily. 

Conduct
Each student is responsible for their own conduct. Minor incidents will be noted on the comment section of the homework planner. Major incidents will be dealt with on a case by case basis, but could include a phone call home, parent conference, and/or discipline referral. Please sign the homework planner over the weekend and return it to school on Monday. 

PAWS binder
Students should keep their PAWS binder organized. Parents should check it periodically. It is the student’s responsibility to have parents sign homework planner, initial Mad Minute chart, and reading log.
