Week of May 12-16
This is another busy week since we have our field trip to Wilkerson on Wednesday, May 14th. The students have done a great job getting in permission slips and they are very excited to learn about their new school and 5th grade. Parents should have also received a note giving information on a Parent Information night at Wilkerson which is being held Tuesday, May 13th from 6:00-7:30 in the cafeteria. If there are any students who have not turned in the Fine Arts selection form for next year, please do that as soon as possible. The 5th grade fine arts teachers need to plan ahead for band, orchestra and general music classes. Thanks to all of you who have turned in these forms!
Math - We will be covering work on coordinate geometry. Most work should be completed in class with little/no math homework this week.
Social Studies - We are finishing our study of the Texas Revolution and completing our 'Footsteps to Fredom' project (class work).
Science - We will be discussing behavioral adaptations in animals and the differences between learned and inherited traits. We will then move on to the properties of soil as well as reviewing for the upcoming science benchmark test.
