Welcome to kindergarten!!! I am so excited to have your child in my class this year! Kindergarten is an exciting and important year for your child. Please mark your calendar for Parent Information Night on Sept. 4. This is a time where you can ask all your questions and get more information about our class and goals for the year.
Homework
Monday
Review the letter chart, naming letters and making their sounds. Read the book sent home.
Tuesday
Practice handwriting strokes by completing handwriting homework. Use your neatest writing. Return Wed. Be sure to write your name on all homework papers. Please use a pencil. Find or draw a picture of something that begins with the handwriting letter. Write a sentence about the picture. This may be beginning sounds at the beginning of the year. Please do not write the sentence for your child.
Wednesday
Complete assigned pages in math homework. Do only the assigned pages. Return in the math folder. Please use a pencil.
Thursday
Read your sight word book to someone at home. Practice sight word flash cards. Please sign the back of the book to show your child has read it and return to school Friday for a sticker. The book will then be returned home for additional reading throughout the year.
Friday
There is no homework on Fridays. Read over the week-end!!
