The Conroe ISD Art Education Program is designed to relate the wonders and joy of art to learning, not just about fine art, but about the world. Lessons incorporate the techniques and methods used in the fine arts with the concepts and knowledge needed to succeed in life. One of the magical facts about art is that there is no right or wrong. Once students understand this concept, their inhibitions and fears of failure seem to dissolve, and their willingness to travel to new heights becomes second nature. Both problem solving and creative thinking skills are naturally strengthened. My hope is that my students will develop a lifelong love of learning for art and consider art as a major channel for learning the rest of their lives.
