Students visit the library each week as part of their 'Special Subjects' rotation.
Lessons include library skills, book talks, featured authors and literature
appreciation. Books are checked out for two weeks. Students can visit
the library anytime during the day with permission from their teacher.

Students have eagerly waited for the addition of fish to the aquarium.

Visit from Mother Goose
Mother Goose is coming to Buckalew on February 1 and 8. She will be delighting students with traditional rhymes and songs. This will be a wonderful opportunity to share your memories of nursery rhymes with your children prior to her visit. How many can you remember?

Reading Week is Coming March 31 - April 4
We will kick off Reading Week on March 28 with a visit from entertainer Julian Franklin.
He will present BOOK BASH, an interactive, educational, fun magic program
to encourage students to read every day! The week of March 31 - April 4 will be our
Bookfair Preview Week. There will also be contests and other activities to promote reading.
