HOMEWORK
Monday
Read a book to your child. Have them identify the parts of the book (front, back, spine, pictures, words, and even letters as they're taught). Ask: Where do I start reading? What direction do I read from there? What do you think will happen next? Tell me what happened in this story. (Retelling a story is an important skill to master for future readers and writers).
Tuesday
Read a book to your child. (see Monday)
Wednesday
In Wednesday folders, I may send homework pertaining to a current theme and/or a letter/number of the week. Most of these are not expected to be sent back to school. These pages are to be used as practice and review. They are also meant to keep the parent informed of what is being taught.
