Unity
By Ray A. Lingenfelter
I dreamed I stood in a studio
And watched two sculptors there,
The clay they used was a young child’s mind
And they fashioned it with care.
One was a teacher:
the tools she used were books and music and art;
One was a parent
With a guiding hand and gentle loving heart.
And when at last their work was done,
They were proud of what they had wrought.
For the things they had worked into the child
Could never be sold or bought!
And each agreed she would have failed
if she had worked alone.
For behind the parent stood the school,
and behind the teacher stood the home!

Children Learn What They Live
Dorothy Law Nolte, Ph. D.
If children live with hostility,
they learn to fight.
If children live with ridicule,
they learn to be shy.
If children live with tolerance,
they learn to be patient.
If children live with encouragement,
they learn confidence.
If children live with praise,
they learn to appreciate.
If children live with fairness,
they learn justice.
If children live with security,
they learn faith.
If children live with approval,
they learn to like themselves.
If children live with acceptance, and friendship,
they learn to find love in the world.

Message from the Assistant Principal:

Have a great summer!  Be sure to check out Dr. Stockton's Read for a Better Life section on the Conroe ISD home page.  Summer is a great time to read with your children!

Students return to school on August 25th.

aboutme.jpgBorn on October 18th, I grew up in Conroe, Texas.  I graduated from Conroe High School and married my junior high sweetheart in 1995. We have two daughters, Ashley (11) and Rebecca (9). Our girls keep us entertained with activities such as Rangerettes and softball.   I knew early on that I wanted to pursue a career in education.  I attended Sam Houston State University and received my Bachelor's Degree in 2001 and my  Master's Degree in 2004.  I had the privilege to teach at Rice Elementary for five years, where I had previously attended as a student!  Good fortune has continued to follow me, and I find myself with the opportunity to serve Austin Elementary as Assistant Principal.  I couldn't be happier to be here!
