The Hauke mentoring program was created to help address issues that
concern students
in order to help them develop personally, socially, and academically.
The program was made to address all students at Hauke. The program was
implemented in the 2006-2007 school year.
Mentors:
Volunteer staff members at Hauke
Time of Meetings:
One to two times a month, during fourth period.
Activities of Mentoring:
To be determined.
Mission:
The program will foster the development of a caring relationship between a
responsible adult and at-risk students in order to strengthen the ability
of the youth to overcome adverse circumstances, stay in school, and
become a productive citizen.
Types of individuals recruited as mentors:
Responsible, caring staff members who volunteer to mentor.
Type of mentoring provided:
Mentoring is meant for groups of no more than eight students

•School to Career Skills
Outcomes:
•Raise TAKS scores at all grade levels for all content
•Lower drop out rate
•Improve attendance
•Increase number of students seeking post high school education
•Improve classroom behavior
