Tiger Life is used in conjunction with the Occupational Preparation class and Option III as a whole to provide a work-type atmosphere where students can develop basic work skills and habits. Products are produced within the occupational preparation classroom and Option III. These include monogramming, notepads, production of seasonal craft products, paper shredding, laminating, shrink wrapping, wood products, candy wreaths, candy bouquets, planting and caring for plants, flowers, etc. These products are distributed by donations. Monies received are used to replenish supplies and furnish activities for Tiger Life students where they can use real life activities to develop skills such as communication, socialization, selection and purchase of merchandise, money skills, etc.
A student must be in Option III Lifeskills Program to be a member. Students are involved on a day-to-day basis in the occupational preparation class and in Option III so there is no set meeting day.
Service projects and activities include: Adop-a-Child at Christmas, Cards for Veteran Hospitals at Christmas, Christmas shopping, Rodeo, spring shopping, Christmas dance, and picnics.
