Dear Students:

Debate is challenging, exciting, time-consuming and rewarding. I am so proud you have decided to pursue debate. Debate attempts to increase analytical thinking skills, as well as all communication skills. Debaters learn to look at both sides of an issues. Problem solving skills increase dramatically through this program. It is not easy, but it is fulfilling. Students debate, participate in student congress-learning to write and debate resolutions according to parliamentary procedure, write and deliver original oratories, develop extemporaneous speeches, enter scholarship speech contests, participate in tournaments and participate in classroom mock trial.

This site is dedicated toward helping you in your speech and debate pursuits. You will find resources to help you learn about, research and prepare to debate at tournaments across the state and nation. This site is frequently updated as we progress through the year. Please make sure to check it frequently and recommend anything you feel should be added to help other debaters at College Park.
