TAKS - These are really excellent links to information about TAKS and testing.

TAKS Awareness PowerPoint Presentations- The four PowerPoint presentations on this page contain information about the new Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) in English language arts/reading/writing, mathematics, science, and social studies for grades 3-11 that will be administered for the first time in 2003. The slides provide an awareness of the objectives and TEKS to be assessed, the format of the tests, and suggestions for preparing for this new statewide assessment.

TAKS Information Booklets - In order to provide you with a better understanding of this new testing program and its connection to the TEKS and to classroom teaching, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) has developed information booklets. We hope these booklets will serve as a user-friendly resource that will help you make a smooth transition to TAKS. Booklets are divided by subject area and grade level.
