My name is Bethene McAlexander, R.N.  I've been married 23 years and have two teenagers, 1 boy and 1 girl.  I was born in Cleburne, Texas on an elevator of the hospital!

In 1983, I graduated from Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas.  I've had varied experiences in nursing working in Home Health, a Pediatric doctor's office, a Geriatric long term care facility, a maximum security correctional hospital, a hospital medical/surgical unit, an Asthma & Allergy office and now I am a School Nurse.

As enjoyable as my previous work was, I find school nursing most rewarding and challenging.  This starts my seventh year of working with Junior High students and I find them to be a very fun age group.  They are still small children in some ways, but are trying to test what adulthood has in store for each of them.  Medically speaking, this can present some challenges, but makes for a job that is never dull!
I love the road my profession has led me down and hope I can make a positive impression on at least one life I've touched.  I know these young students have touched mine!
