Explorations in Technology is a comprehensive survey course introducing students to the concepts and aptitudes that exist in today's technological world.  This course is designed to give a student a focused quantity of information and experiences in targeted areas of communications, production, energy and biotechnology.  This type of instruction is achieved through a digital delivery system that provides detailed instruction in learning centers called modules.  Each module is equipped with its own computer system containing various types of interactive software and manipulatives that draw the student into a comprehensive learning experience.  Activities such as the creation of an animated short film, sending a radio signal over a laser beam, programming a miniature robot, or flying a virtual aircraft are but a few of the real world activities that enhance the students larning experience in the module.  One of the primary objectives for this course is to stimulate a student's interest in one or more of the technology areas presented in this course.  It is hoped that this interest will grow into a career path during their high school years and that their learning experiences in our modular environment will foster a good foundation for their overall technical literacy.
