Program Overview
All classes visit the library each week to learn library and reading skills,
enjoy hearing stories, and check out books.
Examples of lessons are: locating library materials, genres of literature, author focus,
and reference skills in coordinated with the language arts program and other subjects as needed.
Our goal is to encourage and guide students to become independent library users
and to instill in them a love of reading.
Students may also come to the library with a pass from their teacher to check out books
at any time during the school day. We are even open during the lunch hour!
Teachers may sign up for additional time slots to work with their classes
on research or special projects.
Parents, teachers, staff, and community members are always welcome to visit
our library to check out books, books on tape, and videos,
use our computers for research,
or read magazines and local newspapers.
