Yearbook
Kaufman PTO publishes a full color yearbook annually. The PTO does this as a service to the school and therefore sells the yearbooks at a price to cover costs. This is not intended to be a fundraiser. However, dedications and advertising are sold to offset costs. The yearbook is produced in a digital format and includes individual pictures of the students arranged by class as well as collage pages that illustrate the many fun and educational activities that occur at Kaufman Elementary. Copies of previous yearbooks can be viewed in the library.
If you have knowledge of PhotoShop and would like to help work on the yearbook please contact the Yearbook Coordinator by sending an email to kaufmanpto@charter.net and putting “Yearbook” in the subject line.
How to contribute pictures
A successful yearbook depends on
pictures taken by the parents. Collage pages are created from
pictures submitted to the yearbook committee.
* Submit photos on a
CD to the Yearbook Coordinator by sending a labeled disk using the
Tuesday folder system or handing them to The Director of First
Impressions at the front desk.
* Email pictures to the PTO at
kaufmanpto@charter.net
and putting "Yearbook" in the Subject line.
* Fall
pictures should be submitted by December 14, 2007. Holiday party
pictures and spring activity pictures should be submitted by January
31, 2008.
A good yearbook picture is a clear shot that shows students participating in a school event. Pictures with multiple students tend to be given preference over single student pictures. Any school event is appropriate for consideration in the yearbook. Pictures are needed for classroom events, grade level events and school wide events. We rely on our parents to provide the pictures for the collage pages of the yearbook.
How do I buy a yearbook?
Yearbooks are available for sale
November through January. Forms are available in the front office, or
use the form provided Online order
Form. A completed form and payment can be sent in through the Tuesday folder
system or dropping off the paperwork at the front desk. Payment should be cash
or checks payable to Kaufman PTO. The cost of the yearbook is determined by the
number of pages necessary. The yearbook for 2007-2008 will be 96 pages.
The cost will be $23 per book prior to December 31st and $25 thereafter.
A small number of extra yearbooks may be available at the end of the year.
These yearbooks will be available for purchase the week after yearbooks are
distributed to those who have pre-ordered a book. The extra yearbooks will
be sold on a first come first serve basis at the front desk for $28 each.
How do I submit a dedication or business card ad?
Dedications and business card ads are
accepted in January for inclusion in the yearbook. Dedications are
personal messages between parents and children, friends or students
and teachers. Dedications will be reproduced exactly as submitted,
although the yearbook committee does reserve the right to refuse any
dedication based on content. The type can be in color, but the
background must be white and the dedication may not contain
photographs. There are two sizes of dedications, large ($15.00) and
small ($10.00).
Business card ads are submitted business
cards that will be reproduced exactly as submitted. The cost for a
business card ad is $25.00.
Order forms are available in January, or you
may download the dedication form. The deadline for
returning the forms and payment is January 31, 2008 and they can be
turned in through the Tuesday folder system. Due to space limitations, we
can only accept two dedications per child.
