        Job Qualifications:

In order to be hired by the Conroe Independent School District you will need to do or participate in the following:

• Must be 21 years of age.

• Drug tested.

• Pass a physical.

• Pass a criminal background check.

• Good driving record.

• Commercial drivers license.

To get a CDL you will go to a Texas Department of Public Safety office to get a CDL book.

• Study chapters 1-5

• Study chapter 10 and 13

• You will have to pass five (5) written tests and a driving test.

The test are:

• Learner's Permit

• General Knowledge

• Brakes

• Passenger/Cargo

• Pre-Trip inspections

Some of our "Professional Drivers like it because they can be off work when their children are out of school, including being off during the summer.

The pay is good.  It's a lot more than minimum wage and is in line with other school districts.

Training is provided by the district and you get paid while you train.  The training pay is $12.53 per hour.

Paid Sick Leave or Personal Days

Each employee will receive five (5) state days and two (2) local days per calendar year.     Other paid leaves such as Civil, Military, Academic and Disability.

Assisting children as a school bus monitor in Special Needs Department might be more fulfilling.  As a monitor you will interact with children who have special needs and the assistance they depend upon daily to make their journey to and from school safety.
