"Danger Zone"

The area 10 feet around the outside of any school bus is the most dangerous place for students.  We call this the "Danger Zone" because when students are in this area the bus driver may not be able to see them.

Students should always remember and follow these rules:
bullet Always take at least 10 giant steps away from the bus when getting off of the bus.  This way the student can be sure that the driver sees the student.
bullet Always wait for the driver to signal you that it is say to cross the street.
bullet When crossing the street in front of the bus always be at least 10 giant steps or at least 10 feet in front of the bus.
bullet Parents should never tell a student to cross until the bus driver signals that it is safe to cross.
