How to Fix the Windows Desktop Search/File Protection/Missing File Issue
If your computer has Windows Desktop Search installed, please uninstall it immediately.
Problems Associated with Windows Desktop Search:
*Windows Missing File or File Protection errors.
*Slowness: Machine, Internet, FirstClass, etc.
Q: How do I know if I have Windows Desktop Search installed?
A: Look in your system tray in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen for either of these items. In addition, please check Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs for "Windows Desktop Search." It is possible for it to be installed and not currently running.
1. Remove the network cable from the back of the computer if you cannot boot the machine. The network cable looks like a large telephone wire.

*If your machine is running Windows Desktop Search, but it is NOT in the system tray, you can install it, then uninstall it.
