How to identify your home computer name if you are using Windows 98, Windows 2000, or Windows XP.
Here are the steps to check on Windows 98:

On your desktop select the icon called Network Neighborhood.
Right click Network

This is what should appear next.
Select the Identification tab.

Under the Identification Tab, you’ll find a Computer Name.
Here are the steps to check on Windows 2000:

On your desktop select the icon called My Computer.
Right click My Computer and select properties.

Under the next screen that appears, select the Network Identification tab.
Here you can see the full computer name.
Here are the steps to check on Windows XP Professional:

On your desktop select the icon called My Computer.
Right click My Computer and select properties.

This should be your next screen.
Select the Computer Name tab.

Under the Computer Name you should see the full name of your Computer.
