Thesaurus
Materials: illustrated thesaurus, recording form, self-pacing chart, three-ring binder, and hole punch
Purpose: To gain familiarity with the function, structure, and use of a thesaurus.
How it looks: A student takes
a card and looks up the word in the thesaurus and completes the recording
form. When finished, the
student records the date on the corresponding word-card space on the self-pacing
chart so that they do not repeat work. Forms
are checked by the teacher and then placed in the three-ring binder.
