Materials: overhead projector, overhead letter tiles, plastic letters, poems and stories on transparencies

Purpose: To provide children an opportunity to manipulate letters and words, practice handwriting, and read familiar stories and
poems.

How it looks: Poems and short stories are reproduced on transparencies for children to project and read. One child points while the other children read. Overhead letter tiles and plastic letters can be used to make words. Children can practice the formation of letters.
