Never Ending Story
Materials: three ring binder, recording form and hole punch
Purpose: To sustain a cumulative and collaborative piece of creative writing.
How It Looks: This center
is like an on going class project. The first writer begins the story without
limitations or rules, except the
story must be appropriate for school and neatly written. The next writer(s)
reads the previous piece and continues the story in
a logical, sequential manner. As children complete pages, they place them
in the centers basket to be shared with the teacher. The
teacher then adds the story to the binder so the next child at the center
begins to write where the last child left off.
