Materials: pointers, recording sheet, print-rich classrooms

Purpose: To give beginning readers a feel for reading while pointing and matching text. More fluent readers practice reading while revisiting and enjoying favorite stories, poems, chars, etc.

How it looks: Children walk around the room pointing to text and reading it quietly to themselves or with a partner.
