Substitute Application Processing
NEW REQUIREMENTS:
During the 2009 fall semester, we expect to receive notice that all substitute employees are required to be fingerprinted in accordance with Senate Bill 9, known as the "Fingerprinting Bill". Applicants/substitutes will be required to pay the cost (approx. $50) and complete the fingerprint process before they can begin work or continue to work. More information will be provided at a later date.
Thank you for your interest in working for Conroe ISD as a substitute teacher or substitute aide. The application process to be considered for employment as a part-time substitute is detailed below. You do not need to make an appointment to attend one of the processing meetings but you must have all the required documents. Please provide your Social Security card for payroll purposes and the additional ID as required by the I-9 Form. Do not attend the meeting if you cannot provide the documentation to meet the hiring requirements as we will not accept incomplete paperwork. If you are unable to print out the forms below, we will have these forms available for you to complete at the processing meeting. The processing meeting lasts about 30 minutes if your paperwork is complete, longer if you have to complete the forms. We will check your
documents and eligibility to work, complete the background history check, and, if you are hired, you will be required to attend a 2-hour training session on another date.
Minimum educational requirements for substitute employment:
Substitute Teachers must provide a transcript (unofficial is okay) showing a minimum of 60 hours of credit from an American accredited college.
Foreign transcripts require evaluation by an independent transcript evaluation service prior to application.
Substitute Nurses must also provide a current Texas RN License and CPR card
Substitute Aides must provide a High School Diploma or GED
If you have previously submitted an application for another position with Conroe ISD, you will still have to submit the substitute application before you are considered for hire.
2. Complete and print out ALL the following forms and bring to the processing meeting:
Information Release Refers to employee lists requested by mailing companies - not campus information.
you may omit this form if you are receiving benefits from TRS as a retiree
Form I-9 You must provide original documents - not copies
Substitute Processing Meetings:
9am-10am for last name A-L 10am-11am for last name M-Z
