The Conroe ISD Art program provides a quality, sequential and cumulative art program for all students, Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. The Art program provides opportunities for students to learn by offering a quality curriculum, materials, and equipment, and facilities, a safe environment with certified art teachers, state adopted and recommended resources (textbooks, reproductions, audio-visuals, computer software), field trips, visiting artists, and on- going staff development. Students in thel Arts have the opportunity to participate in various exhibits and contests throughout the year including the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo School Arts Competition. Student artwork has been featured in numerous periodicals and art books. In addition to two-dimensional and three-dimensional studio, students study perceptual awareness, art history from the Pre-Historic to the contemporary, art criticism, aesthetic awareness and general art appreciation. |
