Group Security: Configuration and Application:
1.      Login to View-IT.
2.      Click on the ADMIN button.
3.      Click on the GROUP SECURITY (CREATE OR APPLY) button.
4.      The Set Security By User Groups (Based on Job Code) screen will appear.
5.      At the bottom of the page, click on Click here to Add a new group
6.      The ADD GROUP screen will appear.
7.      Enter the name of the group (i.e. Teachers)
8.      Enter the Job Code Start Range (i.e. teachers start at 3000.  This is the code assigned by Personnel.)  To view the job code numbers for various employee categories, click on the View all current Status Code Listing link.
9.      Enter the Job Code End Range (i.e. teachers end at 3999.)
10.     Check the boxes next to the rights that you want to grant to the group.
11.     Click on Add This Group.
12.     You will see the new group on the Set Security By User Groups screen.  Click on the Apply link at the right.
13.     A list of employees in the group that you specified is listed.  Before each name is a check box that is checked.  To the right, the modules that you have granted access to are marked with an ‘X’.  Uncheck any employee that you do not want to have access to those modules.
14.     Click the Apply these changes button.
15.     Rights to the modules have now been granted to selected members of that group.


Copying data in to Excel or Word:
When in View-IT, you can copy the data directly into Excel or Word.  It will copy directly into the cells in an Excel worksheet or into a table in Word.  This information can be easily utilized as the data document in a mail-merge.
1.      Go to the report screen with the data you want and highlight the data.
2.      Select EDIT, COPY (or <CTRL> and <C>)
3.      Open Excel or Word.
4.      Select EDIT, PASTE (of <CTRL> and <V>)
5.      The data will be pasted.  Once there, you can sort on any column and/or delete the ones you don’t want.
