ASE Runtime Installation & Operation    

Description:
The ASE runtime version will enable you to view the checkpoint test data without FileMakerPro.  You can therefore provide the capability for teachers to view the test results without the licensing costs associated with FileMakerPro.  (When scanning the scansheets, you must use the Runtime version.)

Installing the ASE Runtime program (Windows only):
1.      Create a folder on your computer’s desktop.
a.      Right-click on your computer desktop.
b.      Select NEW, FOLDER.
2.      Open the CONFERENCES folder in FirstClass.
3.      Open the PROGRAMS folder.
4.      Open the ASE Run-Time Enabler for FMPro folder.
5.      Drag each file from the ASE Run-Time Enabler for FMPro folder into the new folder on your computer’s desktop.
6.      Open the new folder you created on your desktop.
7.      Double-click on SETUP.EXE.  The installation program will begin.
8.      Click on NEXT, then FINISH.
9.      That’s it…you are now ready to view ASE runtime files.
10.     Be sure to drag the new folder into the Recycle Bin…you are done with it.

Viewing ASE Runtime files:
1.      Double-click on the file with the .USR extension, such as   TEST.USR
2.      The checkpoint test will load in a runtime version of FileMakerPro, complete with all functions except ‘save’.

Importing checkpoint tests into an ASE Runtime file:
1.      Open your TLC TAAS  folder.
2.      Right-click on the BLANK RUNTIME.USR file.
3.      Select DOWNLOAD.
4.      Give it a new name with a .USR extension (i.e. TEST.USR) and save it to your desktop.
5.      Double-click on the icon of the file you just saved on your desktop (i.e. TEST.USR)  The password is the number:  5
6.      It is a blank ADMScan test.  Select FILE, IMPORT RECORDS.
7.      Locate the checkpoint test that you want to import and click OPEN.  The filename will have a .fp3 or .fp5 extension.  Note: make sure the FILES OF TYPE is set to ‘All files *.*’.
8.      Select IMPORT, OK.
9.      Select from the menu bar: RECORDS, SHOW ALL.

Importing multiple checkpoint tests into one:
1.      Follow importing directions 1 – 8, and then repeat steps 7 and 8 for each test to import.
2.      Select from the menu bar: RECORDS, SHOW ALL.
