Second Grade Newsletter May |
|
Dear Parents, As this year comes to a conclusion, I would like to take one last time to thank you for sharing your children with me this past school year. It seems like only a few weeks ago when we were introducing ourselves at Parent Orientation Night. I believe we all managed to pull through very nicely. This year your child has gained more knowledge, helpful tips on organizing themselves, and the confidence they need to continue their educational career successfully. I have enjoyed watching them grow and will miss
them next year. As you look ahead to your summer vacation, I encourage you to begin thinking about how you will continue fostering an educational environment at your home. I would suggest setting aside time this summer to review reading and math with your child. The skills you find listed on this newsletter should serve as a guideline to what needs to be reviewed with your child. I hope you will find these helpful. I will also be sending home a summer packet that will include some fun and educational activities that you may do with your child as well. The most important thing your child can do this summer is read. Please encourage your child to continue reading at least 20 minutes a day. Included in the summer packet you will find some reading programs
available throughout our community and a list of suggested summer reading. I hope each one of you have a safe and restful summer. I look forward to seeing you in the fall. |
