I am so happy to  start my 5th year at Buckalew Elementary!

Originally from Houston, Texas, I attended high school at Cypress Falls.  During high school I played four years of varsity soccer and was a member of the marching and concert band.

In December 2002 I graduated from Texas A&M University, where I earned a degree in kinesiology.  I was involved with many organizations related to health, physical education, and teaching.  This includes Aggie Coaches and Kinesiology Teachers, which I founded.  Prior to teaching at Buckalew Elementary, I taught physical education in Spring I.S.D. at Ponderosa Elementary.

The past two summers I worked as a director at Camp Champions near Austin, Texas.  The campers and I had a blast!  I would love to tell you about my experiences!

My free time is usually spent rollerblading, playing sports, being active, visiting friends and family, furthering my education at Montgomery Community College, teaching my bird tricks, and traveling.  I've backpacked Europe for five weeks, learned to surf in Costa Rica, SCUBAed in Panama, and lounged in the Bahamas.

In recent news, during spring break 2008 my then-boyfriend, Ben Hodge, became my fiancé.  He asked me to marry him while we were touring the Muir Woods in San Francisco.

I am so happy to begin my fifth year of teaching at Buckalew Elementary!  I am looking forward to a great year with my students, my team, the Buckalew staff, and the parents.
