ALL GRADE LEVELS
Buckalew Bears are encouraged to acquire the knowledge and skills for movement that allow students to participate and interact socially through physical activity.  Through health and physical education classes we teach the values of an active lifestyle and appreciation for physical activity and health.

KINDERGARTEN
This is the first year that kindergarten has attended physical education. Kindergarteners focus on understanding boundaries; safely moving in general space; and body awareness.

GRADES 1 AND 2
Students in the lower grades focus on body control while moving; awareness of strength, endurance, and flexibility; appropriate social interactions; general movement skills; non-sport specific skills; and enjoyment for movement and physical education.

GRADES 3 AND 4
Students in the upper grades further develop the skills that were taught during the previous grade level.  Movements and skills mature and are able to be used in dynamic situations.  Also, these students will participate in the presidential physical fitness test.
